Rupert Young

Rupert Young was born on 16 May 1978 in Lambeth, London, and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. His grandfather worked as a theatre attendant in London, giving Rupert access to live performances from the age of four and sparking his lifelong love of the stage.
Rupert is best known to genre fans as Sir Leon, a loyal knight of the Round Table, across multiple seasons of the BBC’s fantasy drama Merlin (2009–2012), appearing in 39 episodes alongside Colin Morgan and Bradley James. He has also appeared in episodes of Doctor Who and the science fiction series Primeval, and more recently played Lord Featherington in Netflix’s Bridgerton. On stage, he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for his performance in Dear Evan Hansen in 2020.
