Michael Troughton

Michael Troughton is an English actor, teacher and writer, and is one of three children of the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton. Along with his brother David he also has his own connections with Doctor Who : he played Professor Albert in the 12th Doctor Christmas special Last Christmas, and in 2022, he took over his father’s iconic role for the Big Finish Doctor Who audios, leading the cast of The Second Doctor Adventures.

Other roles he is well known for are Sir Piers Fletcher-Dervish in the Rik Mayall political sit-com The New Statesman, and as D.C. Melish in Minder.

He has also written a biography of his father, Patrick.
