Keegan Allen

Keegan Allen was born on 22 July 1989 in Los Angeles, California, the son of television actor Phillip R. Allen, whose own credits include the role of Captain J.T. Esteban in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984). Growing up around the industry, Keegan’s early passion was for photography, cinematography and the work behind the camera rather than in front of it. He studied at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, graduating in 2009, before landing the role that would make his name.

He is best known as Toby Cavanaugh — the brooding, complex love interest of Spencer Hastings who is gradually revealed to have a much more complicated role in the show’s central mystery — across all seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars (Freeform, 2010–2017), earning a Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer TV Star in 2013. He went on to play Liam Walker, the ambitious younger brother of the title character, in the CW’s revival of Walker (2021–2024). He has also published a photography book, life.love.beauty (St Martin’s Press, 2015), which became a national bestseller, and continues to work as a photographer alongside his acting career.
