David Boreanaz

David Boreanaz was born on 16 May 1969 in Buffalo, New York, and grew up in Philadelphia, the son of a local television weatherman. He studied cinema and photography at Ithaca College before moving to Los Angeles, where he worked as a parking attendant and house painter while pursuing small acting roles. He was discovered, famously, while walking his dog, when a passing talent manager stopped to talk to him.

He is best known as Angel, the vampire cursed with a soul who first appears in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–1999) before headlining his own supernatural spin-off, Angel (1999–2004), bringing brooding intensity and surprising comic timing to one of television’s most enduring vampire characters across both shows. He went on to lead the long-running procedural Bones (2005–2017) as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, and currently stars in the military drama SEAL Team. He turned down the lead roles in both Batman Begins and Superman Returns due to his commitment to Angel.
