Alexander Vlahos

Alexander Vlahos was born on 30 July 1988 in Swansea, South Wales, to a Greek father and Welsh mother, and grew up speaking Welsh as his first language. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, graduating in 2009, and made his screen debut in the BBC Wales drama Crash that same year.

Alexander is widely known to genre audiences for playing Mordred in the final series of the BBC’s fantasy drama Merlin (2012), and for his lead role as Philippe, Duke of OrlĂ©ans, across all three seasons of the historical drama Versailles. In 2022, he joined Outlander as the unsettling Allan Christie, son of preacher Tom Christie, across season six. He has also lent his voice to the Doctor Who universe, playing Bertie Potts opposite Alex Kingston in the Big Finish audio series The Diary of River Song.
